Honiara, Friday 5 September 2025 – Solomon Islands is prepared to host the 54th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM) next week, says Prime Minister, Hon. Jeremiah Manele.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said preparations are well advanced for the event, which will be held under the theme: “Iumi Tugeda: Act Now for an Integrated Blue Pacific Continent.”

He acknowledged the Co-chairs of the National Organising Committee and their respective sub committees in preparatory work.

“All 18 Forum members have registered their delegations. Seventeen leaders will attend, while Samoa will be led by their Secretary of Foreign Affairs as they form their new government following recent elections,” the Prime Minister said.

He explained that the Forum programme will include plenary and retreat sessions, as well as engagements with CROP agencies, the private sector, civil society, and associate members.

The Prime Minister called on Solomon Islanders, particularly those in Honiara, Munda, and Noro, to extend traditional warmth and hospitality to the visiting delegates. “The world will be watching, and this is our opportunity to showcase the very best of our Happy Isles,” he said.

Participants to the 54th PIFLM started arriving in the country this week.
